As someone who listens to a lot of podcasts, I realised something many podcasts are not paying attention to — episode thumbnails.
Most podcasters are so focused on the logo, the YouTube visuals, the Apple and Spotify profile pages that they forget that they need visuals for each episode.
Even as an audio experience visuals are extremely important for standing out from the crowd and providing context. We cannot forget that people see your podcast before listening so making the right first impression matters a lot.
How does your podcast get found?
Take a moment to think about the customer experience of a podcast fan. There’s so many ways that your podcast can be found but the main customer journeys consist of:
1. Typing keywords into the search bar (organic search)
2. Seeing someone share an episode on social media
